Born an orphan, Bruce Lee Benefiel was adopted at 6 weeks old on the anniversary of his new parents' wedding, Robert Thompson and Helen Louise - childhood sweethearts still together today. A gifted and talented athlete and student, Bruce's life experiences hedged the edge of sanity for many, including his own. The most profound was an NDE at 18 during a meditation where he was asked if he was willing to die for what he believed in... and did.

He founded Be The Dream, LLC, a professional coaching and consulting company, in 1988 while working as a production control coordinator for an aerospace company. His intent was to integrate best practices in business, personal development and systems thinking and apply them in organizational development. He learned about divorce and separation from children later that year, vowing to re-frame his experience into a positive growth-curve like no other. He also founded United We Stand Productions, Planetary Citizens and Spectrum Academy, Inc.

'Zendor' emerged just prior to the dual divorce with wife and corporate America. The name serendipitously bestowed instantly after a silent prayer of 'Who am I?' emerged in a deep moment. 'Zen' was adopted by the crew of ONE WORLD, a TV show Bruce produced and hosted in the early 1990s, early on in the over 100-show run.

Life and the quest for connection created opportunities for deep self-reflection and professional development; acquiring ministerial certification, an MBA in project management, MA in Organizational Management, Secondary/Post-Secondary teaching as well as hypnotherapy and transformational life coaching certifications.

His professional career has spanned numerous industries including education, health/wellness, special events and community television shows. Most recently he facilitated large construction project partnering workshops, coaches personal and professional transformational development and is working on a series of books to continue relating his discoveries. He lives in Gilbert, Arizona with his muse of 10 years.

In 1975, at 18 in my first year of college living in the honors dorm, I was taken into and beyond the Light. This ‘light’ is referenced in spiritual texts and Near Death Experiences in similar fashion. After being asked if I was willing to die for what I believed in during a meditation.

My soul had been ignited with vision and I had not the spiritual maturation to remain quiet. I told my adoptive parents, my friends, my teachers and even went to the preachers just off campus to find out how they would respond to such an experience.

My exuberance in sharing my story was the beginning of what the field of psychology and more specifically psychiatry calls the ‘messianic complex.’ I felt like I had all the answers and needed to share them with the world, even though 'the answers' really didn't make sense to anyone, me included.
